The Rochford Apartments: Erskineville

COMPLETED 2017 | FOX JOHNSTON ARCHITECTS

This project involved construction of 76 apartments in Erskineville and responds to the changing demographics driving a new maturity in the apartment market. The design places owner-occupiers at its core, with design, detailing and material choices made with this in mind. Generous outdoor terraces and winter gardens create the feeling that a garden and one’s sense of space have not been sacrificed. Integrated sustainability measures were pivotal to the design process, ensuring the longevity and overall running cost of the building over time is reduced. Both the masterplan and individual apartment layouts were carefully considered, achieving a high building performance with 75% of apartments cross ventilated and 80% achieving good solar access.
