Monte Sant'Angelo Mercy College: North Sydney
COMPLETED 2018 | FOX JOHNSTON ARCHITECTS
Designed in collaboration with Tribe Studio, this bold masterplan for an Australian secondary school for girls takes advantage of the site’s typography, reactivating the school’s ‘heart’, rationalising the wayfinding and connections, inserting two new volumes and locating (60%) of the new program below a modulated green platform for active play and learning.
The result is an inspiring, logical, cohesive & flexible learning environment for future student generations, with the school’s historical buildings and ‘sacred sites’ at its core. The plan is built around engagement with the landscape over four levels, and gives back to the surrounding local community by creating more, much needed, green space.
